How do I create a virtual patient for PACES revision?
Our platform lets you quickly build and interact with custom virtual patients – all for free. You can tailor each one to focus on specific conditions or clinical scenarios to help target your PACES revision.
Create a new virtual patient
To get started, you’ll need to use our virtual patient creator. You can write your own using our virtual patient creator, or use our AI-powered OSCE generator to draft a complete station in under a minute.
Currently, we only support virtual patients for communication skills stations, such as history taking or counselling.
Write the patient script
When adding patient script, include enough detail to guide the virtual patient’s responses. Think of it like writing a script for someone roleplaying the patient.
You’ll need at least 500 characters of patient detail, but the more context you provide, the more realistic the virtual patient will be.
Generate your virtual patient
Once your virtual patient is complete and saved, click Preview. On the overview page, you’ll see an option to Generate virtual patient.
Click the ‘Generate virtual patient’ button, and within seconds, your patient will be ready to interact with. You can return to it any time.
You can edit your virtual patient at any time by updating the patient script. The virtual patient will automatically refresh the next time you start a consultation.
