Symptoms of pregnancy

Morning sickness, characterized by nausea and vomiting, typically occurs in the first trimester. In the first week of pregnancy, technically, you’re not yet pregnant! This is because pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), even though conception typically happens around two weeks after that. The first week is part of the menstrual cycle, and your body is preparing for ovulation (release of an egg).

If you’re trying to conceive, it’s a great idea to track your menstrual cycle and ovulation. Apps or a simple calendar can help you identify the most fertile days when you are most likely to conceive.

Start taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid, even before conception. Folic acid is crucial for the development of your baby’s neural tube in the early stages of pregnancy, which forms the brain and spine.

Even though you’re not pregnant yet, focusing on a balanced & nutritious diet will help prepare your body for pregnancy. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats; drink plenty of water and perform moderate physical activities.
