Currently, the UAE has three separate authorities responsible for licensing and conducting competency exams for healthcare professionals seeking employment in the country:

  • Dubai Health Authority (DHA) – Governing Dubai
  • Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) – Governing Abu Dhabi
  • Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOH) – Governing other emirates

Each authority has its own exam and licensing procedures. However, misleading information is being spread online, alleging that these authorities are merging into a single entity while maintaining the existing procedures. The false claims further state that the new policy will apply to both new applicants and currently licensed professionals, requiring them to retake the exam.

According to official reports from DHA, while a unification project is indeed under consideration, it remains in the early stages of development and is currently just a proposal. The authority has clarified that any official updates will be published exclusively through government platforms and verified social media channels.

Healthcare professionals and license seekers are advised to remain cautious and avoid falling prey to fraudulent activities linked to this misinformation. Authorities have urged individuals to verify any licensing-related updates directly from official sources to prevent the spread of false information.
