ANBLPN LPN Licensure Process for International Nurses – Step-by-Step Guide 2025

✅ STEP 1 – Register with IEHP Navigation Service (Before NNAS or ANBLPN)

All IENs must first connect with the Internationally Educated Health Professionals (IEHP) Navigation Service, provided by the Government of New Brunswick.

STEP 2 – Create Your ANBLPN Account

Your ANBLPN account is your personal portal where you can:

  • Update personal/contact details
  • Complete licensure forms

    STEP 3 – Complete the Jurisprudence Module

    💰 Fee: $40 CAD

    Before applying, you must review and pass the NB Jurisprudence exam, which covers legal and ethical responsibilities of LPNs in NB.
    ✅ Required before application submission!

    STEP 4 – Apply via NNAS and Submit to ANBLPN

    Apply to NNAS (National Nursing Assessment Service) selecting:

    Submit the following:

    • Proof of ID
    • Nursing transcripts
    • Licensure verification
    • Work experience
    • IELTS/CELBAN/TEF scores (if applicable)

    📌 Then, request your NNAS Advisory Report to be sent to ANBLPN.

    STEP 5 – Submit ANBLPN Application Form & Pay Fees

    • Criminal record check (within last 3 months)

    STEP 6 – Education Assessment & Upgrading

    Based on your file, ANBLPN will determine your eligibility and guide you toward one of the following programs:

    OUTCOME 1:

    ⏳ Temporarily on hold for review
    ➡️ Previously meant for those with close-to-Canadian education

    OUTCOME 2:

    Re-Entry Program (NBCC/CCNB)

    ➡️ For moderate educational gaps

    OUTCOME 3:

    🎓 2-Year PN Diploma (NBCC, CCNB, Oulton College)
    ➡️ For significant gaps or highly specialized education
    💰 See college-specific fees

    Note: You’ll receive an official email from ANBLPN indicating your assigned path. Follow their instructions for registration and tuition.

    STEP 7 – Write the CPNRE Exam (Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam)

    💰 Exam Fee: $930.25 – $1,105.25
    📆 Based on exam month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov)

    📌 Your exam invoice includes:

    • CPNRE fee ($600)
    • Admin fee ($65.25)
    • Active license fee (refundable if you fail)

    What to do:

    • Wait for eligibility email from ANBLPN
    • Pay via your ANBLPN portal under [My Invoices]
    • Exam must be paid by the 15th of the month before the exam
    • e.g., Pay by Feb 15 to write in March

    STEP 8 – Book Your Exam Seat

    Once paid, you’ll receive an email from Testing Support (Yardstick/Meazure/ProctorU).

    • Online via ProctorU
    • Or in designated test centers with proctor
