Brand Name: Zovirax

Uses: Zovirax is prescribed to treat infections caused by certain types of viruses. It is used to treat cold sores, genital herpes, shingles, and chickenpox.

Indications: Zovirax is indicated for the treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections, including genital herpes, cold sores and shingles.

Contra Interactions: Zovirax should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to acyclovir, valacyclovir, or any of its components.

Mode of Action: Zovirax works by inhibiting the growth of viruses and by preventing them from reproducing.

Side Effects: Common side effects of Zovirax include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, and tiredness.
