Senior Lecturer / Reader in Offshore Renewable Energy at Cardiff University

Cardiff School of Engineering wishes to appoint a full-time Senior Lecturer/Reader in the area of Offshore Renewable Energy (Fluid Mechanics). This post is hosted within Engineering’s Centre for Renewable Energy Waste and Environment (CREWE) and will contribute to the School’s Sustainable Energy and Net-Zero strategy. Candidates should bring expertise in computational/numerical modelling, together with an appreciation/contribution to a whole energy systems approach e.g. enabling offshore green hydrogen production and distribution. The post holder will be expected to deliver high-quality research-led teaching – including fluid mechanics – at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to generate novel ideas and funding leading to the publication of internationally leading research. High-impact research is a particular strength of the group, so timely deployment and utilisation of research outputs will be strongly encouraged, similarly developing strong collaboration with industry. Internal and external academic leadership in the field will be expected.  

This post is full time (35 hours per week), available immediately and is open ended.

The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience.

Salary

Senior Lecturer: £59,421 – £64,914 per annum (Grade 8)
Reader: £70,234 – £71,639 per annum (Grade 9)
