Position Title: Adjunct Online DNP Faculty
JOB SUMMARY
The Liberty University Doctor of Nursing Practice Program online faculty will facilitate learning through online course instruction to students enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program online courses. Duties include but are not limited to tracking student attendance, facilitating instruction and grading assignments, supporting students within regards to answering questions or providing course guidance and maintaining an interactive collaborative student-centered online learning environment. If the online faculty member is also a multistate licensed Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioners with a national certification, they may also be considered for a position to also teach online
Practicum Faculty will serve as the primary practicum resource for designated students enrolled in Family Nursing Practicum Courses. The Practicum Faculty role is to supply indirect practicum supervision in order to supplement the Practicum Lead Course Faculty and Preceptor’s teaching, serve as a liaison to a community agency and preceptor, and to evaluate student practicum progress. In addition, this faculty member may teach online courses depending on education and credentials.
Primary Responsibilities
Facilitate online courses, including tracking attendance, providing student support, grading assignments, managing discussion boards and supporting an interactive collaborative learning environment. Complete required self-evaluation including maintaining current unencumbered licenses and national certifications, completion of certification of curriculum vitae, and annual self-evaluation, completion of education requirements for online learning/education, and submission and review of each course evaluation. Complete bi-weekly check in requirements for LUO faculty Additional duties as assigned
If candidate is interested and qualified to teach APRN courses as an adjunct faculty the following responsibilities will apply:
Collaborates with the APRN Program Director and DNP Programs’ Chair, Lead Faculty, Practicum/Student Support team, and preceptors in support of APRN students.  Provides indirect practicum supervision to designated students, consistent with the learning objectives that include advising, supervising, grading, and evaluating APRN specialty students in practicum. Serves as the primary liaison on behalf of Liberty University School of Nursing between the practicum preceptor, student, course lead faculty, and program director/chair. Conducts direct evaluation of designated practicum students in the practicum setting at least once during each practicum course via virtual meeting with preceptor and student.* Note some states require in-person onsite student /preceptor evaluation meetings. Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- DNP, EdD, or PhD. in nursing or related fieldÂ
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
- Candidate will be professional with excellent personal communication and computer skills.
If interested in teaching APRN didactic courses or practicum candidate must also hold national certification and state licensure in specialty such as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and meet the following qualifications
- National Certification in an APRN specialty such as Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from either the ANCC or AANP.
- Current and unencumbered state APRN license in specialty
- Five-years’ experience in the APRN practice role in a direct-patient care setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in online education for doctoral nursing students
- Experience in practicum supervision.
- If teaching APRN practicum courses current clinical practice
