Position Description

Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with SON research teams to develop and revise grants for submission to outside agencies (predominately NIH and HRSA) at the request of the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship
  • Contributes to the university’s mission through research
  • Completes grant assignments in a timely manner for submission into Cayuse and forwarding to OSP
  • Attends scheduled Zoom meetings and participates in the discussion to ensure completion of grant documents
  • Works closely with the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship to ensure timely completion and submission of documents
  • Works closely with OSP to ensure timely completion and submission of documents

Required Qualifications

Education
* Master’s degree in Nursing required from an accredited college or university
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in baccalaureate nursing education preferred to teach at the baccalaureate level
* Minimum of 2 years clinical experience required for clinical teaching roles
Licensure
* Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD, preferably in Nursing
  • Experience with publication in journals and books
  • Experience with external grant writing
  • Experience with grant revision
  • Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon grant submission.

Pay Statement
