Job Summary
The College of Nursing at the University of Kentucky invites exceptional candidates to apply for a full Professor role with an endowed professorship in a tenure-eligible, 12-month Regular Title Series position. We are seeking candidates who use innovative approaches to address important and challenging problems in all aspects of nursing science. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in community-engaged research, environmental exposures, disaster resilience/climate and health, tobacco control, lung health, and/or health policy research.
This senior scientist role will engage with and provide leadership to at least one of these dynamic centers at the University of Kentucky: Bridging Research Efforts and Advocacy Toward Healthy Environments (BREATHE); UK Center for Appalachian Research in Environmental Sciences (UK-CARES), an environmental health sciences core center; and AppalTRuST, a tobacco regulatory science center.
This role will serve as a primary researcher and mentor for early stage and mid-career scientists in the college, related Centers, and other UK colleges; teach and mentor at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels; actively participate in service to the university and the profession; and promote a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, staff, trainees, and students.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate a robust track record of extramural research, funding both independent and collaborative, as well as productivity in community-engaged research and a strong commitment to graduate education, innovation, team science, and research/scholarship. In addition, qualified candidates will have experience leading large research teams. The prevailing candidate will be an intellectual leader in the field with high emotional intelligence, ambitious vision, collegial style, and the energy to inspire other nursing researchers and their collaborators.
