You must be a highly motivated postdoctoral mechatronic engineer with a strong research track record in soft robotics, computer science imaging/ streaming and control engineering. You will be actively involved in design of components of the imaging system together with the LED lighting system, low- and high-level control of vibration-induced intrinsic locomotion and data communication to an external wireless console.

Your priorities will include:

  • Active involvement in the design of components for SOFTIE including the imaging sensor components, LED lighting system, high- and low-level control of intrinsic vibration-induced locomotion and data communication to external wireless console.
  • Active close involvement in preparing the final report, dissemination of the work at scientific meetings, public engagement activities and publication of scientific papers in high impact peer- reviewed journals based on the research.

Who we’re looking for:

  • PhD in robotics/electronic or mechatronics engineering,
  • Experience of research techniques applicable to the project, including robotics, embedded digital systems, micro-camera sensors, communications and control.
