The University of Nottingham is seeking a high calibre Knowledge Exchange practitioner to lead a new Innovation Hub within the Faculty of Engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity to head up a new initiative aimed at raising the level of engagement in invention, innovation and enterprise within a faculty which already performs extremely well in this space, with significant industrial engagement and a number of successful spin-out companies and revenue generating license deals.
Led by the Head of Innovation, in the first instance the Hub-based team will include a Senior Innovation Executive and support from an Entrepreneur in Residence. The team will work in concert with the University’s central Technology Transfer Office, with a particular focus on helping to deliver the faculty’s knowledge exchange strategic development plans, raising the profile of enterprise and innovation, identifying new technology disclosures, scoping out technology development plans, supporting translational funding bids and managing devolved proof of concept funds.
Reporting into the Director of IP Commercialisation within the central TTO and the faculty Innovation Hub steering committee, you will be qualified to at least graduate level in science or engineering, and will ideally have a relevant higher degree. You will be passionate about enterprise and innovation with a track record of successful engagement. You will need to be highly confident and proactive with demonstrable business acumen and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
