The Opportunity
As Clinical Faculty, your role is
to support our online Health Information Management programs through teaching, student support, subject-matter-expertise, mentoring of
adjunct faculty, and engagement in administrative activities in service of the institution. Our faculty teach standardized, pre-developed
online courses, in a 10-week (graduate) or 8-week (undergraduate) term structure. In addition to teaching, you may serve in varied academic
administrative capacities to help ensure that our programs, courses, and instruction are high quality and meet the institutional promise to
students. You will be reporting to the Program Director of Health Professions in this role. The Clinical/Technical Faculty position is a
non-ranked, non-tenure track position, and is remote-friendly. #LI-Remote
You’ll Get To:
- Teach 30 credit hours
annually in graduate programs, or 36 in undergraduate programs, or as determined by professional accreditation requirements - Follow
all instructional principles and strategies that engage students in learning, when serving as a course instructor while following the
pre-determined course design and textbook materials - Provide meaningful feedback to students, academic advisors and team leads
following faculty expectations and requirements. This includes providing students with weekly instructional announcements, responding to all
student inquiries, discussion boards or other posts promptly, providing rubric feedback throughout the term, and providing final grade
assessments and posting grades within 48 hours after the assignment submission date - Provide engagement and outreach including
students who have not logged into the learning platform, engaging students who are not moving through their diagnostic-identified learning
path promptly and strengthening course concepts through professional experience, in field development or conducting synchronous
webinars - Be a professional advisor to students to support students’ sense of connection to the program, provide career advice,
provide capstone support - Participate in program specific events including graduation activities, academic residencies, professional
development activities as assigned. - Collaborate with enrollment and student advisors to support program growth and student success,
while maintaining a high level of communication with the student’s advisor - Provide exceptional student service in every interaction,
which includes never giving up on a student who is putting forth the effort to achieve their goals, demonstrating care and
commitment - Be a mentor to adjunct faculty and subject matter experts
- Collaborate with Associate Deans and Team Leads to help
resolve adjunct faculty issues - Serve on standing and ad hoc academic committees as assigned through online participation
model - Participate in any scholarly and professional activities required to contribute to one’s academic discipline, maintain
licensure and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies that have jurisdiction over the faculty’s respective
program - Participate in curriculum oversight, for example, evaluating programs, evaluating courses, serving as subject matter expert
or program coordinator in course development process
What we’re Looking For:
- Doctoral Degree from a
regionally or programmatically accredited institution - Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
- 3+ years of
experience practicing in the respective field - Online teaching experience
