Coker University’s College of Health Professions is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor
of Nursing and Clinical Coordinator beginning October 2, 2023. This position is a 12-month clinical teaching position with a
competitive salary and benefits. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Health Professions. Primary responsibilities for the
position include student coaching, practicum placement, oversight of compliance, and clinical education as needed.
Required
qualifications:
- Earned master’s degree or higher in nursing.
- Successful teaching and leadership experience in
a nursing education program or clinical educator role in a healthcare setting. - Licensed (or eligible) to practice nursing in South
Carolina
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation,
and enhancement of nursing academic programs:- Teaching:
- Teach 12 to 20 credits per year of undergraduate nursing clinical
courses as needed.
- Teach 12 to 20 credits per year of undergraduate nursing clinical
- Clinical Experiences:
- Assist students with practicum placement.
- Collaborate with
clinical agencies in arranging student clinical experiences (e.g. orientation to objectives of clinical experience, course syllabus,
clinical schedule, etc.) as appropriate. - Work with program coordinators to secure appropriate clinical experiences and sites needed
for optimal clinical education of students. - Assist with tracking of compliance documentation.
- Student Success:
- Assist in development and execution of the SHINE program (Success Happens in Nursing education).
- Apply evidence from best
education practices to student success initiatives.
- Teaching:
- Serve Nursing programs, University, community and
profession:- Participate in the Nursing faculty, standing committee, task force and other meetings.
- Participate in Faculty
Senate and ad hoc committees. - Participate in community and professional activities as appropriate.
- Participate in
scholarly projects as appropriate. - Collaborate effectively with other faculty and staff members within Nursing and throughout the
University and community to develop inter-professional academic, clinical, and research opportunities. - Advance Coker’s educational
mission and core values through the undergraduate nursing programs and serve as an advocate for learners at all levels. - Engage in
clinical scholarship.
