Clinical Assistant Professor, Nursing – HigherEdJobs

The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) invites applications for a 9 month,
promotion-eligible, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing position to begin as soon as possible at the UHCL-Pearland
campus. We seek an outstanding candidate who has exceptional leadership, demonstrates excellence in teaching, and has a clear commitment to
enhancing the faculty, graduate, and undergraduate student populations. The BSN program has a focus on leadership and management and the MSN
program that is under development will have an emphasis on Nursing education and advanced leadership. The Nursing Program and its faculty
are housed at the UHCL Pearland site.

Duties:

• Teach four classes per semester, with one of those classes
  being the supervision of clinical practice projects/practicums/internships. as shared faculty in the undergraduate and graduate nursing
  programs.

• Ongoing curriculum development and evaluation.

• Classroom and clinical instruction in the
  undergraduate and graduate programs using on-site and virtual simulation.

• Face-to-face, online, and distance education
  strategies (Hybrid/HyFlex).

• Participate in college and university committees and meetings as well as engage in scholarship,
  service, and academic advising.

Qualifications

Required:

1. Master’s degree in Nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing.
2. Minimum
   three years of teaching experience in academic higher education.
3. Minimum two years of simulation experience.
4. Texas
   licensed Registered Nurse.
5. Excellent clinical and communication skills.

Preferred:

Doctoral
degree in Nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing.
Experience in supervising practicum students or internship
students, simulation.
Experience in the area of academic nursing education.

UHCL is currently a bachelor’s and master’s granting university with select doctoral programs. Located adjacent to the
NASA-Johnson Space Center, the UHCL campus is se within the scenic Armand Bayou Nature Preserve, about 3 miles from both downtown Houston
and Galveston. This position will be located at the Pearland campus which is part of the UHCL campus and is located in Pearland, about 20
minutes from the main UHCL campus.
