GENERAL PURPOSEÂ
Associate Director,
Nursing, is responsible for the development of professional content of continuing education for nursing and allied health professionals.
 This position requires the individual to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Responsibilities generally include
course scheduling, faculty development and evaluation as well as knowledge of and the ability to coordinate core curriculum competencies for
the medical assisting program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Contribute to
department and organizational educational programs through participation in meetings, committees. and professional initiatives. Student
advisement and interviewing of candidates for the RN Refresher program, Hemodialysis program, Pharmacy Technician and Medical Assisting
program. - Maintain knowledge of current  state and national requirements for our programs awarding contact hours.
 Submission of the contact hour application to the appropriate nursing and allied health organization.  NJSNA, ASHA, ANCC and
CAAHEP. - Maintain quality assurance ,assuring that all required documents and data collection for students and programs are
maintained in accordance with regulatory agency time frames. Â i.e. NJSNA, AHA, MAERB. - Work together with the Practicum
Coordinator of the Medical Assisting program to develop and maintain affiliation agreements with Healthcare partners, providing for the
medical assisting externships. Review student documents making sure all students have required documents on file to participate in patient
care. - Review the department catalog bi-annually with regard to programs curricula and make necessary recommendations for
changes. - Identify and Recruit qualified faculty with current experience in their specialty area.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Registered Nurse in NYÂ
- Master’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the administration of nursing or non-credit programs
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office,
especially word and access - Databases
