Assistant Professor of Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner

The School of Nursing facilitates the learning process of students in achieving the Doctor of Nursing Practice, the Master of Science
with an emphasis in education and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degrees. The school currently manages recruitment, admission and
retention of 230 undergraduate and 90 graduate students. National Accreditation is maintained to ensure delivery of quality nursing
education.

Description of Job

The Family Nurse Practitioner Tenure Track Nursing Faculty position includes
teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching assignments are matched with the education, skills, and experience of the faculty and may
include classroom, lab, clinical and chair of student DNP projects. A full-time workload includes; teaching
an average of 12 course credits per semester, scholarly activities includes publishing,
research, presentations, clinical scholarship, and various professional projects and service includes
campus and departmental committees as well as community involvement.

This is a nine-month/year position with the potential
for adjunct summer work. 

Primary Duties

Teaching assignment (12 course credits
per semester). Duties Include:

  • Teach, evaluate and revise course as needed, provide on-campus and black board learning
    experiences/classes/labs/clinicals, evaluate student learning, post grades, submit final course grades per university policy.

Service

  • Advise assigned group of students
  • Attend departmental meetings as applicable
  • Serve on university committee/task force
  • Attend and
    participate in recognized nursing functions such as Hooding & Pinning and commencement

Scholarly
Activity 

  • Develop research
  • Publish publications
  • Present at conferences
  • Attend
    discipline-related conferences
  • Maintain licensure

Salary Range $70,000 – $80,000 per 9-month
academic year. This position has the potential for adjunct summer work for additional compensation.

Minimum
Qualifications

  • Doctorate or MS related to nursing and enrolled with a plan to graduate
    within 3 years from a doctorate program related to nursing.
  • Obtain nurse educator certificate within 5 years
  • Current
    unrestricted RN in Colorado or ability to obtain one or from a compact state
  • National Board Certified for a minimum of 3 years as a
    nurse practitioner in Family and on the Colorado registry or eligible
  • Teaching experience at graduate level (Hybrid, Online, Face
    to Face, or clinical, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D., DNP, Ed. D. in nursing
  • Nurse Educator coursework
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Blackboard, etc.)
  • Experience with Accreditation
  • DNP
    Projects
