Position Summary:

The School of Nursing invites applications for the position of adjunct nursing faculty in the ACEN accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Participation in teaching, student advising, professional service and scholarly activity is expected. The position is part time, adjunct faculty.

Duties & Responsibilities:

–         Responsible for supervising the nursing students in the clinical setting

–         Evaluating the clinical performance of the student and grading all clinical assignments

–         Provides a supportive learning environment

–         Collaborates effectively with the Healthcare Partner and its staff.

Maintains clinical competence and knowledge in the area of expertise.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of curriculum design, strategies to promote student learning, assessment and evaluation of learning, evidence-based education principles, basic nursing skills and a commitment to life-long learning. Possesses interpersonal and communication skills necessary to teach as part of a faculty team.

General Days/Hours:

Monday-Friday, hours vary depending of clinical rotation assignments

Maximum 9 credit hour teaching workload per semester.
Academic experience would be beneficial.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required; Master of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
Licensure to practice nursing as an RN in Arkansas.
At least two (2) years of clinical practice as a Registered Nurse.
