Position(s): Associate Professor
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Chairperson of Nursing, the Associate Professor teaches across multiple areas; supervises students at the
graduate level; provides service at the program, department and university levels; provides curriculum instruction and program development;
advises students and collaborates with colleagues; continues professional development in scholarship, teaching, community service; maintains
clinical expertise and knowledge of the profession.
This position requires for all coursework to use the University’s educational
platform Blackboard to promote the advancement of technological enhancements in teaching. The successful candidate will also have a
commitment to teamwork, and organizational skills with attention to detail, thoroughness, excellent communication, and practical
decision-making.

Required
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing (required)
- Doctorate in Nursing or related field
(required) - Experience teaching at an accredited institution of higher learning, and documented research experience
- Evidence
of effective use of computer technology - Demonstrated experience in online and/or distance learning, as well as curriculum design and
implementation in higher education is required - Current licenses and/or certification to practice Nursing in Washington, DC;
Maryland; Virginia - Knowledgeable in NLN and/or AACN accreditation practices
